FANTASY GOLF RULES

1. Each pool contestant starts each golf tournament with $1,000,000 of "game cash".
2. Use your game cash to add up to 20 golfers to your lineup. You can buy and sell golfers at any time before and during tournament play, right up to a golfer's final 3 holes.
3. The value of each golfer reflects their current position and probability to move up the leaderboard - which can change hole-by-hole.
4. Selling a golfer will return game cash that can be used to buy other golfers. NOTE: When you sell a golfer, you will not be permitted to re-buy that golfer during the tournament.
5. At the end of the tournament, golfer values will stabilize from top to bottom of the leaderboard with the winner having a value of $1,000,000 and golfers who missed the cut valued at $0. More on Golfer $ values...
6. As a pool contestant, you will be ranked based on your total lineup value - calculated by totalling the value of all golfers in your lineup plus your remaining cash.
7. Your contest payout will be shown on the pool leaderboard. Payouts are based on percentages of the total prize pool. More detail on payouts...

STRATEGY TIPS

The FantasyGolf.io pool winner will be the one who grows their $1,000,000 of game cash to the highest value by the end of the golf tournament.

Begin as you would in a static golf pool, by choosing golfers you think will play well. some players spend their game cash to buy 4 or 5 of the top golfers, others buy 15-20 lower ranked golfers. Another strategy is to wait until play starts and buy golfers who are on-the-move. How and when you deploy your cash is up to you!

Golfer $ Value

Each golfer is assigned a seed and $ value at the beginning of the tournament, with the top seeded golfer valued at $300,000. Seeding is based on various factors, but primarily the golfer's OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking). Once the tournament starts, golfer values will change hole-by-hole as they move up and down the leaderbaord. Their value will be a blend of their SEED and their current RANK in the tournament with their SEED holding less influence on value with each progressive hole. By the end of the tournament, the golfers $ value will be entirely based on their finish rank.

The winning golfer will be worth $1,000,000, 2nd = $850,000, 3rd = 725,000 and downward to $25,000 for last place. golfers who miss the cut reach $0. Ties will get an average of the allocated values.

Real-Time Trading

With FantasyGolf.io you can buy and sell golfers at any time from Wednesday to Sunday during live play, right up to a golfer's final 3 holes. There is some easy money to be made buying low, selling high and reinvesting your earnings, but a lot can happen over 4 days and you cannot re-purchase a player once sold. Therefore, quick profit taking is not always a good strategy. In general, it is best to have most of your cash invested, but it can also be advantageous to buy golfers that are quickly moving up the leaderboard before they become too expensive. Cash for a new purchase can be raised by selling golfers from your lineup.

SELLING is important

Keep an eye on your lineup. It may be wise to sell a golfer who is moving down the leaderboard, especially if they are likely to miss the cut (Once cut, their value will be $0).

FREE POOLS

FantasyGolf.io offers multiple pools for each golf tournament. We offer a FREE pool which can be played for fun and used to become more familiar with the game before joining a paid pool. The rules and playability of Free pools are exactly the same as paid pools. Free pools have no buyin cost and therefore have no payout at the end.

PAID POOLS

Paid pools have a nominal buyin cost, such as $10, and enable players to compete for a share of the total prize pool. The pool winner receives the highest payout. 2nd, 3rd and subsequent placings are paid out on a sliding scale until the total prize pool is exhausted. See below for payout details...
